This novella has been published in anthologies previously and has not been significantly edited thanks to an editor and decades of writing experience. The story has not changed since it was originally written Sixteen years ago. The technology presented is as close to it as it was in 2006. The core idea of a natural disaster changing everything goes to my core belief that the best science fiction is when you change one thing and look at how that one change affects the world. In this case, the world literally shifted and everything and nothing changed.
