Georgia, a state known for its rich history and Southern charm, is stained with a dark past of racial discrimination and systematic injustice. The Lynchin In Plain Sight project aims to shine a light on the horrifying history of lynching in Georgia and expose the deeply-rooted racial inequities that persist today.

For decades, lynchings were carried out with impunity in Georgia. African Americans were targeted, brutally tortured, and killed by white mobs as a means of social control and reinforcing racial hierarchy. These acts of violence were often publicly displayed, aimed at instilling fear and intimidation in the black community.

The Lynchin In Plain Sight project, initiated by a group of dedicated researchers, historians, and activists, serves as a comprehensive documentation platform that uncovers the details of these unjust acts. By delving into archives, newspapers, and personal accounts, the project brings to light the stories of victims, their families, and the communities affected by these horrific acts of racial violence.

One of the main objectives of this project is to counter the erasure of these events from the historical narrative. By acknowledging the full extent of the atrocities committed during this dark period, the project aims to challenge the selective memory that seeks to downplay or ignore the history of lynching.

Unveiling the Legacy of Lynching

Lynching was more than just an act of violence - it was a tool used to maintain the racial status quo and reinforce white supremacy. The Lynchin In Plain Sight project is dedicated to revealing the full scope of these racialized killings and their lasting impact on communities across Georgia.

By providing historical context, the project sheds light on the systemic injustices that allowed lynching to thrive. It examines the complicity of law enforcement, the judicial system, and local authorities in perpetuating an environment of racial terror.

Through its extensive research, the project gives a voice to the victims, ensuring that their stories are no longer silenced or forgotten. It also seeks to connect the past with the present, highlighting the legacies of racial violence that continue to shape the lives of African Americans in Georgia.

Exposing Racial Inequity and Seeking Justice

While the Lynchin In Plain Sight project aims to bring awareness to the history of lynching, it also exposes the persistence of racial inequity and injustice in Georgia today. By acknowledging this disturbing past, it becomes clear that the roots of current racial disparities run deep.

The project calls for the accountability of those responsible for perpetrating and facilitating these acts of violence. It advocates for truth, justice, and reparations for the families and communities affected by lynching.

Furthermore, the project works towards fostering dialogue and understanding among different communities in Georgia. By confronting the painful history of lynching, it aims to create spaces for healing and reconciliation, breaking the cycle of racial violence.

The Urgency of the Lynchin In Plain Sight Project

The Lynchin In Plain Sight project is of the utmost importance, as it challenges our perception of history and the narratives we accept. By shining a light on the injustices committed in the past, we can better comprehend the inequality that persists today.

Through its research and documentation, the project serves as a catalyst for change. It demands an acknowledgment of the ongoing racial inequities in Georgia and encourages collective action to dismantle systemic racism and prejudice.

The road to justice and equality is long, but projects like Lynchin In Plain Sight serve as beacons of hope. By bringing these dark acts of injustice out of the shadows and into the public discourse, we take a step towards a more inclusive, just, and equal society.

The LYCHIN' IN PLAIN SIGHT is an installment of The Georgia Railroad Project by Mr. Amos Westmoreland, Jr.
Multiple crimes occur every nanosecond in the United States. Very often the ill-structured Georgia criminal justice system shows its obvious obsession with the penal colony idea, as it directly relates dealing with specific classes of individuals.

Railroad is a term used to describe a legal proceeding that knowingly and strategically disregards the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses of the United States Constitution, guaranteed to all American citizens.
The Railroad is effectuated by two or more actors under code, color of law and the guise of justice. The results are always the same, an individual receiving severely disproportionate sentences not balanced against the nature of the crime or circumstances involved.
During the post conviction stage, an individual challenging his/her conviction are then labeled as terrorists and treated as such.

This is essentially the ultimate war for equality in the criminal justice system. Likewise, it's an ongoing battle against excessive warehousing, government corruption/collusion, disparities in sentencing, unequal social, economic and criminal justice.
This series focuses on extensive case law research and presentation of constitutional claims, raised through the courts of law. The highlight is the reality that the judicial and the criminal justice system have clearly violated Due Process and Equal Protection, in plain sight.
-- Mr. Amos Westmoreland, Jr.
