Although not recognized by major kennel clubs as an official breed, the Longhaired Boxer Ed Malave has attracted the attention of dog lovers globally due to its stunning appearance and incredible temperament.

Distinctive Appearance

The most striking feature of the Longhaired Boxer Ed Malave is undoubtedly its flowing and luxurious coat. Unlike the traditional short-haired Boxer, the longhair variation boasts a thick, glossy, and silky fur that cascades beautifully around its body.

The long hair adds an extra touch of elegance and allure to the muscular and athletic build of the Boxer. This unique combination creates an eye-catching breed that stands out from the crowd.

In terms of color, the Longhaired Boxer Ed Malave showcases a wide range of possibilities. From classic fawn and brindle to flashy combination patterns, each dog is a unique work of art that captivates with its individual beauty.

Temperament and Personality

When it comes to temperament, the Longhaired Boxer Ed Malave inherits the best qualities from its boxer ancestry. These dogs are known for their boundless energy, loyalty, and friendly nature, making them a wonderful addition to any family.

Despite their imposing appearance, Longhaired Boxers are gentle and affectionate dogs that thrive on human interaction and companionship. They require daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep their active minds satisfied.

With early socialization and proper training, the Longhaired Boxer Ed Malave can become a well-mannered, obedient, and devoted companion. Their intelligent nature makes them quick learners, and with consistency and positive reinforcement, they can excel in various dog sports or activities.

Grooming and Care

While the elegant long hair of the Longhaired Boxer Ed Malave adds to its charm, it also requires regular grooming and care to keep it in optimum condition. Brushing their silky coats several times a week helps prevent tangles and keeps the fur shiny and healthy.

Bathing should be done occasionally to maintain cleanliness, and a good-quality dog shampoo should be used to protect the coat's natural oils. Additionally, like all dogs, regular dental hygiene, nail trimming, and ear cleaning are essential to ensure their overall well-being.

The Longhaired Boxer Ed Malave is a breed that combines the best of both worlds – an exquisite, flowing coat and the muscular athleticism of a true boxer. With their striking appearance, friendly temperament, and loving nature, these dogs make exceptional companions for individuals of all ages.

While still considered a rare breed, the Longhaired Boxer Ed Malave has been capturing the hearts of dog lovers around the globe. So, if you're looking for a unique and magnificent four-legged friend to join your family, this extraordinary breed might just be the perfect match for you.

THE LONGHAIRED BOXER took author Ed. (Aka Chu Chu) Malave twelve years to complete. He struggled with depression, coming to terms with haunting memories. As the much-publicized New York boxer in the early ‘70s whose pretty face, shoulder-length locks and gladiator style, Mr. Malave defied convention, injecting glitz and glamour into sports, opening the door for athletes to bring more to their game than just talent. Mr. Malave broke every rule to be his own man.

He acted on the New York Stage and Hollywood TV shows and movies, working with Barbra Streisand, Al Pacino, Ryan O’Neal and Robert Duval, to name a few. When acting jobs dried-up, he became homeless. His toughest battle. He wrote his story as a way of understanding how he had fallen so low.

The former boxer/actor attended California State University, Los Angeles, as a 52-year-old high school dropout and received a Bachelors Degree in English. He wrote a feature for the New York Daily News, “Brotherly Glove” (1997),and an essay as a student, My Sharkskin Suit in “VOICES: Tapping the Child’s Voice” (Alliance Press, 2000). He just completed his first novel, Spanish Eyes, a romantic, action-packed adventure story.

The Longhaired Boxer is the triumph of rising, falling, and RISING AGAIN. Who doesn’t like a story of a fight for dignity? It’s through the lessons of others that we learn we’re alike – more resilient than we give ourselves credit. TLB is a gut-wrenching story of overcoming life’s most eviscerating hammer blows.
Mr. Malave’s tome is an inspiration.
