Scipio Africanus was the man more then any other that saved the Roman Empire. His most glorious moment was finally defeating Hannibal at the battle of Zama, bringing the Second Punic war to an end but his life was so much more then that.
He saved his father's life at the age of 18 and survived the disastrous Battle of Cannae, headed the army on a successful campaign to modern day Spain before gaining popular support in Rome to take the battle to Hannibal over in Africa resulting in his amazing victory at Zama.
